Dear GMS Families, After a remote learning period, we are so ready to have students back in the building with us. While it was great to see how well the students and staff did with this transition, the building just isn't the same without them. Yesterday, you were sent an email regarding this return and some changes that will be put into place. If you didn't get a chance to see that email, the text is in the link below. This coming Wednesday and all Wednesdays going forward will be early releases. The schedule for dismissal will be as follows: Yellow Group 12:15 Pink Group 12:23 Blue/ Purple Group 12:30 Buses 12:35 Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our pick up procedures running smoothly. This coming week will end with our celebrations of Halloween. Specific information about class parties will be coming out from individual teachers, but I wanted to take a minute to discuss some school wide expectations, especially for this year. First, costumes will be allowed at classroom discretion, but we ask that they not require any changing or adult support. Bathrooms will not be allowed to be used for changing, so they will need to be worn (at teacher discretion) or be able to go over the student's clothes. While some makeup is allowed please remember that the students will still have to follow our mask expectations. Finally, as always please refrain from gore, blood, and weapons. We cannot wait to see the creativity of the costumes and are really looking forward to the sense of celebration that will be in the building. Finally, we want to express our sincerest thanks to you all for making this transition to remote learning as well and as seamless as possible. It means an awful lot to us and the staff and speaks volumes to the quality and caliber of community we have here in Litchfield. Thank You! As always Be Well, Be Curious, and Have a Great Weekend,
Dan Mitchell, Principal Maura Clinton- Jones, Assistant Principal

End 68 Hours of Hunger Litchfield Schools are pleased to inform you about a free, confidential food program which provides students with meals from Friday after school until they return on Monday morning. The program is sponsored by “End 68 Hours of Hunger,” a local, private food program whose mission is to help families feed their children over the weekends. If meeting the weekend nutritional needs of your child is challenging at this time, we would like to help meet that need. All food is non-perishable as well as easy to prepare and we do our best to accommodate food allergies when necessary. Guaranteeing your child’s confidential participation in the program is also a top priority. For additional information or to sign up, please contact Jennifer Hayes, GMS School Counselor, at 424-5931 x1106 or jhayes@litchfieldsd.org.
