Dear GMS Families, It is hard to believe that next week will mark the end of the third quarter. Despite all this year has brought, it still seems to be flying by. Though it may look differently, the fourth quarter is always the busiest. We look forward to the events, celebrations, and culminations that the final quarter brings, and are thankful daily that this year we are actually in the school building. Planning is well underway for this year's Field Day. While the event will look a bit different, we are committed to holding an event that is fun, creative, and safe. This year has forced us to think a bit differently, but we are up for the challenge. We know that you, our dedicated families, are always looking to help. To start we have created this WEB PAGE to give more information on ways that you can donate or help out. We look forward to this event and know we cannot do it without you. As more families return to in person learning or parent pick up, the times for pick up are: Pink 2:45, Yellow 2:52, and Blue/Purple 3:00. If you arrive early you will be asked to wait in the parking lot. Once the whole group is loaded we will then allow the cars in the group to exit. Please make sure if someone else is doing pick up whey are aware of these procedures. They are in place for your and your child's safety and we appreciate your cooperation in how well it has gone this year.
Finally, thanks to your generosity we collected 115 items in our pet drive! Thank you all who donated. To our families who will be celebrating, we wish you a Happy Easter this weekend.
Be Well, Be Safe, and Be Curious, Dan Mitchell, Principal Maura Clinton- Jones, Assistant Principal

GMS NewsWeekly COVID Numbers Currently we have 2 positive cases associated with the school community. We continue to monitor the situation and will communicate out when necessary. Transportation Update As we continue to navigate this year, we recognize that plans originally made at the beginning of the year have changed and flexed as time has gone on. If one of those changes is that you would like your child to now ride the bus, either because they have been remote and are now in person or circumstances have changed at home and parent drop off and pick up are no longer possible, please contact Michele E. Flynn at the District SAU Office (meflynn@litchfieldsd.org or 578-3570) to request a bus stop for your child(ren). This is a requirement of bus transportation and helps us to be aware of all students who use district transportation for emergency and contact tracing purposes. Thank you for your attention. 2021-2022 Placement Believe it or not, it is already time to start thinking about next school year. Our student placement process will begin shorty and we want to give you an opportunity to share with us. If there are factors, details, or considerations that you would like us to know prior to placement, please take a moment to complete THIS FORM. We ask that you please refrain from naming or requesting certain teachers, but rather provide us with the information (strengths, weaknesses, or concerns) that you think will help us make the best classroom placement for your child. This form will be open until Friday, April 9.
News from the SAU/ Superintendent Friday, April 2, 2021 Text Messaging - PowerSchool has a text messaging feature that allows the schools to send short reminders and announcements directly to parent and guardian cell phones. The week of April 5th, we will send one text from 67587 to all cell phones in our system. The FCC limits our outreach to that single text, and further requires recipients to “Opt-In” in order to receive future messages. Be on the look-out for this text message and follow the prompts to participate. Texts from the school are limited to 160 characters and will be part of our future plan to keep everyone informed of school happenings. Be Well & Stay Strong!
