Dear GMS Families, Another week down and only eight and a half days left. We simply can't believe how quickly this year has gone by. When we walk through the halls and into classroom it is hard to ignore just how much the students have grown- not only in physical size but also in intellect, ingenuity, curiosity, and resilience. Thank you for sharing them with us on this journey. Though there are only a few days left, they will be packed. In the next two weeks we will have Field Day, Relay Recess, Step Up days, a clap out for the graduating seniors, and a fourth grade celebration. This is in addition to the many classroom based celebration and culminations that will take place. In this crazy year, we welcome all the celebrations of a job well done. Field Day is coming on Wednesday June 16th! This is a FULL day of fun! Remote learners are welcome to come with their class. There will be traditional field day activities outside as well as STEAM based activities inside. There is also a special surprise for that day! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Girzone. A notice will be going home to all students, both in school and remote, next Friday as a reminder of what to bring on 6/16. Can't wait to see you! Be Well, Be Safe, and Be Curious,
Dan Mitchell, Principal Maura Clinton- Jones, Assistant Principal

Relay Recess Our school is participating in our 9th annual Relay Recess health awareness and fundraising event on June 14th! We are helping to raise money to support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to provide resources to cancer patients and help find a cure. Your child should have received a fundraising packet with information about how to sign up to fundraise online and about our Relay Recess event. This information is also on the GMS website. Please turn in all envelopes, suns/moons, and luminary bags by June 10th to your child’s teacher. There will be prizes for highest fundraisers at each grade level and drawings for participants. Thank you for all of your support as we work together to teach your children how to be responsible citizens and play an active role in their community! Please email Mrs. Quimby at squimby@litchfieldsd.org if you have any questions about the GMS Relay Recess. From the Learning Commons Did you miss the GMS Scholastic book fair? The good news is that it is not too late to purchase books. In fact, it will be available until the next book fair, The only difference is that the profit is reduced, but please do check it out when you have a moment! Thank you!
News from the SAU/ Superintendent Vaccination Cards - While we are not requiring students or staff to be vaccinated, we are able and very willing to track vaccination status. This could be helpful to individual students in the future if contact tracing is required or if a vaccination record is lost. Any student is welcome to send a copy of the vaccination record to the school nurse. We will maintain a copy of the vaccination record in our medical files.
