This past week we learned that a groundhog in Pennsylvania thinks there will be six more weeks of winter, and today was surely the reminder that we are in the thick of it. Thank you all for your great work and flexibility in making today's remote day successful. Also this week we noticed that it was the first of 2's day. The students were asked to set 2 goals that they could achieve between 2/2/22 and 2/22/22. We can't wait to see them achieve these goals and continue to succeed.
The school district Deliberative Session is tomorrow. This is a chance for all residents to come out and hear the warrant articles that will be presented for a vote in March. Please join us to learn more about our budget requests and have your voice be heard.
On Thursday morning we were all notified that the masking status had changed for GMS. This did create some wrinkles that we continue to work through. We apologize that this was not as smooth and seamless as we would have wanted, but thank you for your continued patience and understanding that you have expressed through these everchanging times. We appreciate it greatly!

End 68 Hours of Hunger
End 68 Hours of Hunger and Litchfield Schools are pleased to inform you about a free, confidential food program which provides students with meals from Friday after school until they return to school on Monday morning. If meeting the weekend nutritional needs of your child is challenging at this time, we would like to help meet that need. All food is non-perishable and easy to prepare. If your child has any food allergies, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate this need. Nut products are included for those who are not allergic, but children are informed that they are not to open the bags until a parent can review the contents. The bags are delivered to schools and students will take the bags home with them on the bus or at parent pick-up. If you would like to pick up the bags yourself, arrangements can be made for pick up at the front office.
If you are interested in joining the program or learning more, please contact Elin Pelland, School Social Worker, at 424-2133 x 2215 or at epelland@litchfieldsd.org.
