At GMS, We THRIVE

September 9, 2022
GMS Families,

The school year is officially in full swing. The classes are up and running and learning is taking place. This week we were able to get into all of the lunches to enjoy some time with the students and Mrs. Clinton-Jones was able to present opportunities for the students to earn some whole grade level privileges based on lunch room etiquette.

In just two weeks we will be having our Open Houses on Wednesday, September 21 for PreK-1 and Thursday, September 22 for Grades 2-4. Both nights will be from 6:00 - 7:00. This year instead of a parent information type event, we invite you to come with your child and explore their classroom and get a feel for what their day is like. All students are welcome to bring their parents to this fun and informative evening. Volunteer trainings will also take place on this evening with two sessions at 5:45 and 6:30. If you plan on volunteering in any capacity this year or may be interested in chaperoning a field trip, this training is mandatory. If you have already been trained you can simply come with your paper work for verification. If this is your first time there is a short presentation that you must complete as well. All volunteer documents can be found HERE

Be Well, Be Curious, and THRIVE,

Dan Mitchell, Principal
Maura Clinton-Jones, Assistant Principal

When you send an email please include the following information:

If you would prefer to leave a voicemail message when your child is absent or tardy you are still welcome to call 424-5931 and then hit “2” when you hear the automated message. Please remember to include the above information in the voice message.

Please note that when you email or leave a voice message saying that your child “will be out” then the absence is recorded as unexcused. Please tell us the reason for the absence so it is documented correctly.
